I got the sweetest g chat from my maid of honor Emily (pictured above during the engagement weekend) yesterday.
She said:
So, are you dreaming of a specific type of bachelorette party?
One where we go to the beach for the weekend and talk about boys?
Or go to the houseboat and go for a swim?
Or go dancing at Holocene and get really drunk?
Or go hiking and take cute instagrams?
Or invite Beyonce to Mike’s cousin’s rooftop pool?
Or fly to palm springs and stay in a modern chateau?
Or have a day getting mani pedis and massages at Dosha?
I love all of her options- so sweet and thoughtful. It was so cute to get the note in the middle of the day. My question back is- can we do it all?
Birthday wishes for me by me. My birthday is early next month. For Lent this year I have given up shopping- for myself. So this has allowed me to add lots of good things to my wishlist on pinterest.
February of 2013 came and went. Jam packed with work and a little play. I am also now committed to at least updating La Vida Lauer with easy monthly installments with the help of Instagram. Left to right & top to bottom.
This weekend was a nice intro to March- good weather & an enjoyable weekend.

Seven days straight now in these. Funny to think I left them in the box for a month cause I wasn’t sure about them. #shoes #feet #mystyle #booties
I am not a cook, but a new years resolution for 2013 has been to cook more. I think I have made dinner 3 times in the past 13 days of 2013. That is progress.

Last night I hosted my two cousins Anni and Marie for dinner. I realized once I invited them that it meant I had to cook something. There is a standard rule that you don’t try a new recipe on guests. But these two girls are family and I am a first timer at most things in a kitchen so it had to be. I was inspired by one of my favorite restaurants in SF- Beretta. They make a delicious panzanella and I had to give it a try. Its not that hard so I really had nothing to lose. We rounded out the rest of the meal with roasted tomatoes, garlic & cippolini onions over white Italian beans, a super easy and standard recipe for me, red wine, bread & some delicious orange bitter cocktails.

The night was so much fun and I look forward to hosting another dinner & testing out some new recipes soon. Below is my panzanella recipe- salud!
