February of 2013 came and went. Jam packed with work and a little play. I am also now committed to at least updating La Vida Lauer with easy monthly installments with the help of Instagram. Left to right & top to bottom.
This weekend was a nice intro to March- good weather & an enjoyable weekend.
The weekend before last Mike and I flew to the Chicago area to spend time with both the Chapas and Lauers. The occasion was my cousin Elena’s 15th birthday, in our culture a girls 15th birthday is a big coming of age/entering womanhood celebration. I had my own 13 years ago. The party did not disappoint. We had the best time ever on the dance floor and at the after party that lasted til 3AM at my Tia Maria’s. The boys even had their own after after party ;) The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating my Nana Lauer’s 83rd birthday and lots of cousin time. Love to the entire fam! Until next time.
We had a fun and sunny Fourth of July. A day off in the middle of the week is pretty nice too. Here are some photos from the annual parade in my parent’s neighborhood- always fun to see the kids with decorated bikes and of course photo ops on the firetruck. And in my family the dogs get into the spirit too- with festive attire.
Now on to a two day work week and then a 3 day wedding weekend, summer in the PNW is finally here!
Thanks friends & family for helping me celebrate my birthday, I felt extra special all day long. Highlights include:
Looking forward to celebrating some more this weekend!

While in NYC last week Emi & ventured for a walk on The Highline. A walkway featuring plants and lounge furniture that sits two stories above the city. The path is an abandoned L train platform that has been re imagined as an unexpected urban oasis.

On Friday night I hopped on a plane to JFK. I arrived at 6:30am and quickly took a cab over to my best friend Emily’s apartment on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. After a little nap we were on our way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Brooklyn, NY. Enjoy the pics from my iPhone.

Welcome home…

My weekend in Brooklyn was in advance of three days in Manhattan for work. It was a great trip, I can’t wait to return and have lots more fotos to share in the next few days.

A while back I did the above project where I needed a single balloon to photograph, walking home with the balloon from the flower shop I received many random smiles, birthday wishes, congratulations, and happy faces. All due to the presence of the balloon. I have been thinking about balloons a lot lately. More balloon related ideas to come… Happy Friday!
