July 2013:

  • bike rides
  • 4th of July
  • quality time with my QT pie niece
  • delicious huevos rancheros on set in LA
  • a super sweet bridal shower with my girlfriends

May was BUSY! Lots of travel and lots of memories for the memory bank. We visited Hawaii, SF & Indiana for two big family events with both sides of my family. My cousin Annie got married and my grandmother turned 90.

Other highlights include:

  • a super fun manicure and the discovery of my new go to nail girl.
  • seeing my friend Amy in SF & hearing all about her new gig and life in one of my favorite cities.
  • photobooth fun at Annie’s wedding with my cousin Enriq and his ready to pop wife Ali.
  • and rounding out the month an ambush/surprise (week late) birthday dinner for my dear cousin Marie.
February of 2013 came and went. Jam packed with work and a little play. I am also now committed to at least updating La Vida Lauer with easy monthly installments with the help of Instagram. Left to right & top to bottom.
The latest Nike Women limited edition tights & a long over due session at Barre3.
A quick overnight at the Cabin in Trout Lake has me committed to monthly trips.
My family celebrated the first birthday of my adorable Niece Annabella early on in the month.
A twenty dollar Forever21 sweater helped me share the love.
A work trip to LA provided a much needed escape from the grind & the rain. What you see here is breakfast at Cora’s Cafe in Santa Monica.
This weekend was a nice intro to March- good weather & an enjoyable weekend.

The weekend before last Mike and I flew to the Chicago area to spend time with both the Chapas and Lauers. The occasion was my cousin Elena’s 15th birthday, in our culture a girls 15th birthday is a big coming of age/entering womanhood celebration. I had my own 13 years ago. The party did not disappoint. We had the best time ever on the dance floor and at the after party that lasted til 3AM at my Tia Maria’s. The boys even had their own after after party ;) The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating my Nana Lauer’s 83rd birthday and lots of cousin time. Love to the entire fam! Until next time.

We had a fun and sunny Fourth of July. A day off in the middle of the week is pretty nice too. Here are some photos from the annual parade in my parent’s neighborhood- always fun to see the kids with decorated bikes and of course photo ops on the firetruck. And in my family the dogs get into the spirit too- with festive attire.

Now on to a two day work week and then a 3 day wedding weekend, summer in the PNW is finally here!

Thanks friends & family for helping me celebrate my birthday, I felt extra special all day long. Highlights include:

  1. A HBD first thing in the morning from the ladies at the Bo reception desk.
  2. A bilingual phone call from my Abuelos.
  3. Pozole for lunch with Angie & a sneaky cookie dough delivery from Larisa.
  4. Flowers at my desk from my RF team.
  5. Lots of snail mail at home, coinciding with #photoadayapril.
  6. Free Scoop day at Ben & Jerry’s & no line on Hawthorne.
  7. Frye boot shopping with Mike.
  8. Baylor win & a successful FB post to Nike Women.
  9. Pasta & vino at Piazza Italia.
  10. Ice cream sundaes & all 3 birthday songs con la familia.

Looking forward to celebrating some more this weekend!

While in NYC last week Emi & ventured for a walk on The Highline. A walkway featuring plants and lounge furniture that sits two stories above the city. The path is an abandoned L train platform that has been re imagined as an unexpected urban oasis.

On Friday night I hopped on a plane to JFK. I arrived at 6:30am and quickly took a cab over to my best friend Emily’s apartment on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. After a little nap we were on our way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Brooklyn, NY. Enjoy the pics from my iPhone.

Welcome home…

My weekend in Brooklyn was in advance of three days in Manhattan for work. It was a great trip, I can’t wait to return and have lots more fotos to share in the next few days.

A while back I did the above project where I needed a single balloon to photograph, walking home with the balloon from the flower shop I received many random smiles, birthday wishes, congratulations, and happy faces. All due to the presence of the balloon. I have been thinking about balloons a lot lately. More balloon related ideas to come… Happy Friday!
